I was born in my current home state. I lived here for a few years with my mom, dad, and brother. We then moved to Virginia and a few years later my sister was born. I made a best friend there that lived across the street. But the year before kindergarten, we moved back up here to my current state. But we had to live with my aunt. We lived there until the start of kindergarten. A few weeks before kindergarten started, me and my family moved to my grandmother's home. I was unable to go to Seylar. I went to Groveland instead. It was fun and I joined girl scouts and remade friends. But half way through the year I moved to my current home and changed to Guth. I wasn't allowed to get workbooks because it was almost over. While other kids were sharing their stories, I had to stay in my seat. I had no friends that year.
Then I went to Seylar in first grade. It was the year that I had to get glasses and wear a patch for my lazy eye too. I was the new kid once again. I went through that year with one friend. I was happy actually. I thought that most people only had one friend. Most of the other kids let me join their games but eventually forgot I was playing with them. Then second came. I was failing second grade. I would never do my homework and never get sign and returns actually signed. I went through that whole year friendless. I sat at recess sitting by the wall waiting for the whistle to blow, signaling class time.
Next was third. I made one friend. But I could tell it was only for the year. But that was the very first time I went to a friends home. Next was fourth grade, I made a true friend. She got me in trouble a lot. But she kept trying to invite me to her house and i didn't want to that year. I glided through fourth fine with no drama. In fifth I was friends with two girls that hated each other, they pulled me in. I got them to bond though. They bonded over not talking to me and having their own private parties. In sixth grade it was weird but again I was fine. Nothing new, nothing old. But then seventh grade came around. And this was the first year I had a friend at my house. That was a life changing year. My friends, all of the ones I would talk to and sit with, stopped talking to me. I tried but they didn't they left. I had to sit alone for a while but I found others. It was nice. Until art class. In art class I had been bullied. And my teacher wouldn't let me move. I would come home and end up on tears. My mom eventually got me to talk to the team's head teacher. Now, this girl, she would say things. Like how I was a bitch. How all I said was trash. She went further though. I was already sad cause I had to go to see my brother graduate basic Naval training. And I was upset he was leaving. But while I was gone, she pinched a part of my clay project. I had to restart that part, the teacher got mad at me, and I got a bad grade on it. I moved on through most of the year taking her crap since I sat right next to her.
In eighth grade, My brother moved to Connecticut. Which I was again sad but happy he moved closer to home. I then found a group of friends I could trust and rely on. And then my mom got pregnant. I was happy and excited. But she lost the baby. I attended the funeral that year but when I would talk to my teachers privately, they thought I was going on a trip or vacation. I decided not to tell anyone but a friend. I have never cried in front of others. I never will. This year, my grandfather passed. In my science class, I would ask to go to the bathroom to cry it out.
Now don't pity me. I have found my stars and am holding onto them. I learned to be loud and always smile. The smiles I get in return are a star. My daily goal is to make one person truly smile. And my pride for my brother is another star. MY grandfather being in a better place. Me learning not to let my walls down as easily. Finding true friends. Getting good grades. Seeing my sisters grow. A Disney trip that my aunt paid for as a present. My pop pop helping us fix our house. My mom finding another job. Her being happier. My dad getting stronger.
I wrote this to give people an insight on my life. To see growth, not pain. To show that no matter what, smile. We all have a story to tell. Not a lot of people want to share that story. It is hard. Even as I write this now, my stomach is in knots and I am unsure if I should even be writing this down. But now I have a weight lifted from my shoulders. So if you don't want to share, fine. If you do, fine.
